Don Strock is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Miami Dolphins and the Cleveland Browns. He was born on February 23, 1950, in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Strock played college football at Virginia Tech, where he set numerous passing records and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Bluebonnet Bowl in 1973. He was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 1973 NFL Draft.
Strock spent 15 seasons in the NFL, primarily as a backup quarterback for the Dolphins behind Hall of Famer Bob Griese and later Dan Marino. He is best known for his performance in relief of Marino during the 1981 AFC divisional playoff game against the San Diego Chargers, where he threw for 403 yards and four touchdowns in a losing effort.
After retiring as a player, Strock went on to have a successful career as a coach and administrator in college and professional football. He currently serves as the quarterback coach and co-offensive coordinator at Florida International University.
